Tusas Camp 2010 pictures

Font Size » Large | Small

I know y'all can't wait for pictures and good stories, so here ya go

In between sets of Jon Gold's Unstrung Heros, the kids were lined up for the zip line, well perhaps they were there throughout the music, which played from two PM until dark.  Thank you guys. I have some great video which I  am uploading to Youtube as I write this.

The weather was perfect, the turnout was the best since I can recall, the food, oh my goodness, the food.  The horno was in continuous use.  Last night we had  Brook Trout and what I think was local salmon, and pizzas. OMG the pizzas, they just kept on coming and all this wasn't even the Saturday Pot luck.

Our camera started doing pictures like the above photo, so Saturday I borrowed Jack's camera, which not only takes great pictures, it also shoots video. Okay here is the first video of Unstrung Heros jammin  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bArAyVJzWlw

If I had to guess, I'd say we had 500 people here for Saturday night! Yeah, it was intense! This is about double the campers from last year. And yes, a lot of people come just to get crazy drunk in the woods and stay up all night screaming and hollering. So did we when we were young, I don't guess I can change anything about that, except being clean and sober myself made it all much less intense.

Yeah, Friday I drank only coffee, albeit, gallons of super strong camp coffee, made in our new 28 cup percolator, and I did manage to not only stay up until 2 or 3 AM, I felt damn good, clear and happy, when I did finally crash out I remember waking up with a start a few times with this mad-crazy caffeine buzz, like I never fell asleep, except the music was off, the hoots and howls were less, and my back felt really good to be horizontal on a foam mattress in our camper. Here ya go another Youtube video is ready  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nkk3hPkxQs

The costume cabin wasn't the great success that say, the Piñatas  were, (which I do have pictures of on our camera, I'll get you those tomorrow) but we had a few tails and if you were here on Saturday night you would have seen yours truly sporting a cape with a big "B" which was interpreted many as, "Boss-man,  and Brian-man, which were rewarded with the retort, "It's  Bio-man!"

We did have lots of paints, and a few really nice murals were painted.

We had only one person which needed "rolling" as Elsu called it, it just happens that it was he that added the word "Big" to this otherwise pleasant spray paint art.

Now Saturday I drank only water, lots of water, that right there is the ticket. I don't know what time I stayed up until Saturday, but it was great., and the rowdy very large group camped below us didn't bother us at all. Brittany whose camp that was said, I didn't know who half those people were. It was exciting seeing them trying to figure out how to behave in a strange forest whee they could only see from one camp fire to the next. Yep, this sounds strangely familiar doesn't it?  So yeah, if you can't sleep while the young folks are acting exactly like we did at that age, then camp further up the hill, it is a really big camp.

Here is a video of Danny and Kevin, I asked them to get their heads down in the picture by the oven, but I guess it sounded more like "stick your heads in the oven!" http://www.youtube.com/user/bossltr#p/a/u/1/7VJHzRrumu0

There are so many short videos I am losing track of which is which Tusas Camp 2010
There are a few which were ruined by my dear son flippin the bird while I was shooting, bad boy, so I didn't put those in.
Also I have put a second post up at my site to handle the extra photos

Whelp, good pictures and videos, the stories weren't all that, I guess, but it is what it is.
Nell and Sara are heading back now, to deliver trash bags, I'll shoot more pics, of the aftermath, if you will.
Because, Tusas is pretty much done, and it was the best I can remember
Viva Tusas!
