I sat on this sermon for at least two years before I used it, for reasons that will become apparent as you read it.

It is much too political for the Mainline pulpit.  Even so, I finally decided to use it, because it is still basically the Christian message, as is the parable itself.

This is the last sermon in this book; anything more would be an anti-climax.

Note:  this parable has been known as Dives and Lazarus since the time of Jerome, ca 400 AD.  They still call it that in seminary – why should I change it?
