Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-erosion-control
Good Morning
Alrighty then! Couldn't come up with a theme, so I went for a hike.

(Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Fuel) First things first. Got to have fuel to drive the Jeep to Santa Fe to pick up our new round fronted shower stall. This homemade fuel has been sitting for a week and is crystal clear. Biodiesel is the only way to drive baby

(Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike) Come along if you want. The dogs and I are going for a hike.

(Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-Bottleneck) I don't know if I made a big enough deal of the rain storms we've received recently, so I'll say it now, "thank you Rain Gods!" So far we've not got enough rain to reverse the damage to the aquifers done by human over-population and droughts, but it is something, and we feel blessed.

(Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-Romero) The neighbor cut all the trees off this (his) huge valley. The old man has passed away, his sons don't appear interested in grazing. The good thing is nature tries to come back, no matter what humans do.

Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-Clearcut-Romero The Romero family really ought to follow up on the clear cutting and thin the young trees back to a manageable thickness, or else this pretty little baby forest is going to be a nasty old fire hazard in a few more years. We can't say anything; it wouldn't be neighborly I suppose. I do know the old man freaked when we questioned him about removing all the trees.

Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-Central-Meadow. Tusas Camp finally looking better. We ought to be able to have campfires for our Labor Day Camp.

Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-Rock-and-Brush-Dam One of the bigger dams. The brush is gone now. This dam has been holding back soil for nearly four decades now. It's quite a success story in our eyes.

(Santa-Fe-Trip-Prep-Head-Clearing-Hike-Wolf-Spider) This spider was in the dog water bucket when we got back from our hike. I shooed it toward the garden. Wolf Spider isn't likely its actual name. It is a group of spiders that run down prey, as opposed to building webs to catch prey.
I'm excited to get going to Santa Fe. Besides picking up the new shower stall, I'll be spending time in the hardware store designing the water supply system using the large assortment of plumbing parts available for the bathroom and kitchen.
I can't wait to be in a real hardware store, and with money too, yippee
