Brian, on a pole again (To the tune of Willie Nelson's "On the road again.")
Good Morning
Yesterday was murder, please forgive me for using pictures to tell the story this morning.

(Desertgate-Mueller-tower) This is one of the WiFI mini-towers I'm working on. The plan here is design and build a bracket to hold all of these sector antennae as near the top of the pole as possible. The first step literally is done with the installation of the pole climbing pegs which I chronicled installing a few months back. BMN Spiking Utility Pole (8.2)

(Brian-on-a-pole-again) Alright smartie pants, you try doing a self portrait hanging 20 feet in the wind.
(TheShell-Pit-July5th2012) One of the reasons I'm tired is I started at Desertgate at 1:00PM because of the holiday, so from 9:00AM when I normally leave, I worked on TheShell Pit, pulling out several large rocks and a dozen wheel barrow loads of the resultant gravel moved out to the driveway. I'm happy with the depth, so this may be "done." It was nice because Nell and I got to sit in the lawn chairs yesterday morning and discuss the TheShell layout. I'm forming a clear image in my mind of what we want and how I'll do it, so this feels very good.
(TheShell-Pit-July5th2012-pipe) Another large chuck of rock came out from under the sewer pipe. We're now down well below the level needed to plumb all the sewer lines so they all angle down toward the inlet to the septic tank. We're thinking at this point that we'll have only the claw foot cast iron tub and not a shower stall. Perhaps the shower stall will fit in the second phase of the trailer demolition and remodel. Essentially we'll have a claw foot tub in the kitchen as it is. So that should be interesting right? I've got a couple dozen glass blocks, I'm thinking they can be incorporated into a partition between the tub and the kitchen. The lavatory will be completely enclosed on the other side of TheShell. I'll show the latest layout at some point in the near future.
(TheShell-Pit-July5th2012west) I will pound on this big ol' mean rock right here in the middle of the space, and it'll break up, at least enough to get it lower than the floor, which it probably already is by a few inches, but I want more, like six inches.
(TheShell-Pit-July5th2012-another-byproduct) Trying to show landscaping levels and changes is difficult, suffice to say this part of the driveway is higher by a foot.
(Front-Garden-July5th2012) A little oasis in the barrenness of a three month drought. One of the results of having little oasis in the yard when everything else has dried up and died, it all the little critters congregate in the gardens. I saw a chipmunk happily prancing away from the garden in the back of the house. The result of his shenanigans is we'll need to plant a lot more lettuce if we want some too.
(greenhouse-July5th2012) Tomatoes already growing on the vines, yippee
(TheShell-Pit-July5th2012north) This will be the main entrance to the house and kitchen. We have a salvaged high dollar glass and metal clad wooden double door sized door window set, if that makes any sense which will go on this the south west side of TheShell.
There was a nice thunder storm rolling all around us last night. Unfortunately it did not let any rain loose, but it did light a tree on fire on the Crestone near Sapello. We heard about it quickly through the Grapevine at around dusk. By that time with binoculars I could see that a tree was on fire, and there were search lights. Jack spoke with Leo and Mark on mobile phones. It was amazing that the firefighters were able to get up there, that is a tough climb even in the daylight, I went out around midnight to have another look, and all was dark, so I suppose they got it out, thank you firefighters.
That's it then
