February-15th2012-Sunrise Howdy and good morning. This isn't how I started out thinking I'd be doing my newsletter this morning. It actually started with the title BMN Still Seeing Double? I can still address this double BMN issue, but I don't wish to be a nuisance. I'm certain there are as many people who get one or two BMNs in their mail, but don't open it, as people who get two and will write me back allowing me to clean up the mailing list. I'm sayin, it's just as easy for any of us to let it all go on the way it was, as opposed to making something better. I'm still hopeful some of the doormouses will drop me a line and let me know what they are up to, or tell me to piss off, or whatever.
February-15th 2012-Sunrise-Parents-yard. Yep we got a little more snow out of these storms
February-15th 2012-Sunrise-Windturbine. I had to plug the Christmas lights in to burn off some of the energy from the wind this month as we are not in our home to use the power from the inverter for our entertainment system.
February-15th 2012-Sunrise-Modular-home. This home has plenty of trees. I'm considering dropping some trees along the south side allowing more solar energy to strike the home.
Anyway I was reading what someone else wrote and I got engrossed. I'm not great on book reviews, mainly because, ashamedly have fallen out of the practice of reading. I'm here to tell you that this book, of the three that I recently bought, is I think absolutely perfect for the place I'm in mentally and or spiritually. The title is: Earth Sheltered Greenhouses, by Mike Ochler
Earth-sheltered-greenhouses-losses-gains. Quite eloquently, the author shows that the problem with most greenhouses is the heat losses through the glazing is nowhere near balanced with the natural heat gains found by submerging the greenhouse in a south facing hillside.
I wrote to a BMNer yesterday after he suggested I buy a Mac and enjoy life:
It is just that you made me wonder if everyone thinks that because I mess with Linux it doesn't work well. My goal is to be an inspiration, not an example of tire spinning. It is a fine line. Brian

Not yet, next week we hope, for Nell yes I am super stoked about the sunken greenhouse concept. Rand offered the use of his backhoe, maybe we’ll get the greenhouse dug soon
Re Macs. BAH humbug. Had one at work two years and hated every moment. Expensive too. My dad has an iPad now and I don’t like that either. Heavy and clumsy. I’m PC.
Who’da thunk that little sink could make such a difference in the greenhouse heat. Looks like a great project.
Hooray! I vote we fix and keep Nell too. Is she on her feet yet?
