Good Morning
I didn't need to look up hodgepodge to know that it means a confused mixture, but with the way this morning is going I thought I better do it anyway. Yesterday was windy as you may know already. It never seems to fail that we've got to be out in it, and usually in the windiest place around besides.

Desertgate's truck with Eric for a moments reprieve is ducking the wind. It was so cold up on the hill outside of Las Vegas that I couldn't take too many pictures. The ground looks like some type of Tundra.

Desertgate's Mueller-tower I've spent a great deal of time this morning trying to get information about a product I had recommended to the guys at Desertgate which might make getting to the top of the utility pole possible. I wasn't certain what utility pole foot pegs were called and wondered if it was one of those industry secrets, or maybe my brain wasn't working yet. Hours later I found some for sale, guess what they are called? Pole Step Doh!

Desertgate's Mueller-tower. I got to tell you that access to this tower is scary without a driving wind and bitter cold. I began the day today thinking, yes thinking: There must be something I can design to make the physical aspect of this tower work better for Desertgate.
I wouldn't be quite as concerned if the project yesterday wasn't so scary. This pole is only 30 – 35 feet tall and it is more dangerous to climb than the 70 – 100 foot towers, mainly because there isn't a good method for tying in the body harness. I would like a seriously solid ring at the extreme top for a pulley system, and climbing pegs up both sides so we do not need a ladder.
Part of the mixed emotions and content comes from attempting to create an interesting header for my newsletter. As you've noticed I've been posting the weather, sunrise and sunset times, as well as Moon phases. I keep hoping that someone will take up where my sister Jill left off and create a fun astrological gardeners calendar. It hasn't happened that I can find online. There are a few listed for sale but without seeing what they look like inside I won't be spending $20 to find out.

The link above is about as close to Jill's Almoonac as I have seen. I tried to copy and past February 2012, but the limited icons representing various plants weren't transferring well. I wasted some time trying, which helped create today's hodgepodge. Anyway go to that link above so you can see what I'm looking for in a calendar.
I know it is a little early to think about planting. It's just that yesterday along with the grueling grinding work in the bitter cold wind I had to go grocery shopping too. It wasn't all bad, after all it was Valentine's Day Eve and I wanted to get my woman something special. I decided on potted Mums seen in the image at the top.
Posting images in order of importance is always a good thing even when it's an afterthought, grin.
Anyway the potted plants (flowers) got me thinking about planting.
That's my story and I'm afraid I have to stick with it.
