Brian's Morning Newsletter

Good Morning
Not even any good media news items to lambaste this morning, dang!  I didn't get much accomplished at work yesterday. Today I have a very early physical therapy. I'm thinking of asking my doctor for an MRI and or CT scan of my neck, the pain is a dull ache, but annoying just the same.
Nell and I did make a change yesterday. We went to the health food store to shop. Yea! It was cool, I don't know sometimes what the hell is wrong with my brain. For who knows what reason, I hadn't gone into the health food store for decades. I didn't even know where anything was anymore. That's all better now.

We bought small quantities of  foods I have very much missed from my diet. Like short grain brown rice, wild rice, thick rolled oats. I plan to make granola with the oats, I also picked out dried cranberries for the granola. We're going to try to change our diet. We need to remove some of the fatty products, specifically butter. The cookies I make weekly will need a change of ingredients. I used yogurt instead of butter as Nell's sister Susan suggested. They do taste just as good, but it is hard to get over what a cookie used to taste like when they used to have one stick of butter one of margarine, and a couple tablespoons of oil in them before.

Hmmm, how do we get in these habits, anyway? Our bodies crave grease, salt, and sweets! My god, how do we cope! Staying busy, and trying to keep busy ought to help. I'm thinking of jogging again, but Nell's feet are shot so that's no good for her. Situps, and pushups, something, and no doubt a lot of repetitions too. I've gained so much weight this Winter, it is really discouraging. Now thinking of making my beloved cookies healthier, seems to draw a dark dismal picture of the future.

Oh yeah the whole world has gone insane at the same time. I'm almost relieved that the asshole Christians burned the Koran. I just wish we could designate a place where these violent religious fanatics can fight it out. Far away, so the people who wish to live peacefully can be safe. Well if the Religious Right hoped to stir things up by burning the Koran, they forgot to ask me what I thought beforehand, now we'll get to see what shakes loose. I almost love their hatreds, except it keeps splashing blood on innocents.

I'll just focus on my cookies, okay?

Got a couple replies yesterday.

Yes the BMW runs. We put it in the shop a last year and stuck a battery and some gas in it, vrrrroooom. We drove it up the valley and back with no mishaps. Brian
