Brian's Morning Newsletter
February 3rd 2010
Good Morning
Feeling much better this morning, except for the little cuts on my fingers which I've accumulated over the last few weeks of intensive manual labor. Yesterday was great once I got going. I felt well enough, although the first job wasn't a complete installation as I hoped. The people at the house were connecting existing equipment so I was in and out fairly quickly. I met up with Nell at noon so we could go to the State Employees Credit Union where we hope to open a new joint account, turned out that noon wasn't a good time to try and see someone, so we begged out at quarter to one, promising to return soon. I may go in Thursday and get the ball rolling, without Nell who is working the typical hours of an office manager.
The little wait we were subjected to was fine, it gave us a chance to check out their operation. We're very dissatisfied with our current bank and are anxious to switch. The rest of the day was better too, although now that I think about it, I goofed at the hardware store, asking for the wrong size EMT conduit for my only full installation, when I got out to the yard I realized my mistake, and had to wait in line for what seemed like an eternity for a refund so I could go to another hardware store and get what I needed. Twice I was waiting, but perhaps waiting is a good thing when exhausted like I was, certainly easier.
So, I'm looking through the photos I downloaded from Jack's camera yesterday morning and found this series of images from Sunday.
Louie designed the transition at the bedroom doorway, in which corrections were made to the angle the boards lay in relation to the out of square walls. When you come to visit be sure to note the beautiful cuts.
Below, my dog Cujo, peers out from behind the legs of my incredibly dirty pants. Perhaps we should burn those pants, they performed a vital role in the restoration of Jack's house, and now it's done. Seriously though, have you ever seen a cuter doggy?
"Numb all over," If someone were to ask, that's how I would describe myself in the photo below. One more room to go.
Jackson told me last night that the floor is "Too beautiful," now I suppose, he feels bad about putting his stuff on it. Possibly so. Nah, you deserve it Jackson.
Get the plastic coat on that wood, maybe put the fan in there to dry it quicker, and start moving back in, ASAP.
Sorry about that yesterday, the newsletter was blocked by Yahoo, I think becasue of a glitch in one of the copy and paste stories I posted. According to the returned BMN yahoo claimed it was virused, I doubt that, but you never know.
Some of you figured out that you can read the BMN directly on my website http://outfitnm.com/category/brians-morning-newsletter. Please bookmark my website so you'll never miss another episode. www.outfitnm.com
Yep, I have to go work again today for Desertgate. Like I said, I do feel better, better even than better, really goody-good, and happy too.
We're looking forward to banking with the Credit Union, Mary Beth has said great things about Credit Unions in general.
Sincerely,
Brian Rodgers
P.S. no stories, however funny they may be, you gotta admit the Onion's story about the bald eagle fit nicely with the BMN, what with my painting one, and my feelings about wars and other invasions.
