Good Morning
Here comes another cart-load of images.

Yesterday the Tusas work gang turned the lump of rock and mud into, well a bigger lump of rock and mud, but my point is now it is beginning to look like something other than a lump of dirt, at least we think so.

We are building the cauldron right into the mud. If everything goes as planned the thermal mass of all this adobe is going to heat everything, including an oven which we are yet to build atop the firebox.

Mass, that’s what this oven is all about. Tons of adobe will be heated be the fire in the firebox

Progress is slow but steady. We’re thinking about installing two sheets of flagstone on either side of the oven for work surfaces.

Brittany organized a fantastic work crew and they got er done.

Okay one more and I’ll try and do somethng besides copy and paste pictures, although I won’t promise anything, my fingers as well as all the rest of me are aching like I don’t remember ever aching before.

I forsee the advent of ‘horno-walking’becoming a safer alternative to fire-walking, if ya don’t fall off the three foot wide wall in drunken oblivion!
